Local Initiative - July Mission

This month we are partnering with Center of Hope to help survivors of domestic violence. Center of Hope is a comprehensive agency whose services include shelter, crisis counseling, court advocacy and other advocacy services. Over the years they have built upon their resources to include victims of sexual violence and stalking, as well as male victims.

Southview, in partnership with Local Initiative, gets the privilege of helping them meet their most important needs list items for their survivors as well as leading a service project to help improve their shelter. We will be doing landscaping, cleaning gutters, power washing their deck/exterior and helping in any other way that is needed.

You can join us!

Local Initiative will be doing the service project on Saturday, June 24. If you would like to participate then sign up on the form here:

Don't Miss Sunday - The Wild Stories

This Sunday we end our Church in the Wild series with "The Wild Stories". Four stories of God moving and intervening within the lives of His people. Two stories for each why not consider attending BOTH services (9:15/11:30AM) to hear them all. It will be time well spent and you won't regret it.

Invite others to come ready to receive the blessing and power of the testimony. Don't Miss this Sunday! #CITW

This Friday our team will be spending most of the day serving and ministering to those attending Bonnaroo right here in our back yard in Manchester, TN. Through music, evangelism and prayer, we are believing for many people to be changed by the love of Holy Spirit. We are partnering with other local ministries and churches to surround this whole event in love.

Would you be praying specifically for our team as they are on the grounds from 2-8pm on Friday the 9th? Even if you can't attend, you can serve through your prayers for us and for this city.

Missions Offering / Serving Project for June

This month, Southview will be featuring Center of Hope for Missions Sunday (June 18th). Center of Hope is the only domestic abuse center in Maury County. They serve women, children (and men) that have experienced domestic violence, sexual or physical abuse from boyfriend/girlfriend, sexual assault.

Their mission:

Center of Hope is a refuge of peaceful existence providing innovative and compassionate direct advocacy, therapeutic counseling, and residential services to victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. As a leading resource for system change, Center of Hope’s goal is to provide meaningful and effective support while addressing the attitudes and behaviors which allow violence to continue in our community. Our comprehensive program ensures that the needs of the victims we serve are met in a holistic and compassionate manner by equipping and empowering them with the skills they need to move beyond the trauma and onto the fulfilling lives they deserve.

Also, Local Initiative will be doing a service project for Center of Hope and helping them with getting items from their "needs" list. The service project will be Saturday, June 24th. We'll be doing landscaping, power washing the deck/exterior, clean gutters, etc.

The Power of Resurrection Sunday

This Sunday is EASTER Sunday, or more commonly celebrated as RESURRECTION SUNDAY. Many people view this as the one Sunday they can not miss...a time to go to church to meet their quota and hear the story of Jesus.

This Sunday at Southview, Ps Mark will be telling the story of Resurrection, but maybe in a different way than you have heard before. Through some very powerful testimonies, we will share with you the very act of resurrection Jesus has given to us. Now we can see miracles of resurrection within our own lives because of the ultimate act of resurrection Jesus did on Calvary.

Sunday is also our Child Dedication service, when we get the amazing opportunity to commit little children back to God. This comes off the heels of Palm Sunday when 17 people total were baptized within both services (7 of them were on the spot decisions!). Can you tell we are excited about what God is doing?!

So back to those family members, neighbors, co-workers, fellow students who are just waiting for an invite from you. Consider yourself commissioned. Invite them to either our 9:15 or 11:30 AM services this coming Sunday. Let the story of Jesus' resurrection become their story. We will be praying...
